November Meeting

Date: Tuesday, November 12, 2019 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

As most of you know, our regular member meeting day is the third Wednesday of the month. HOWEVER, we are very happy to announce that (with the change of dates) we are going to have Doug Ouellette as our guest speaker and boy does he have a presentation for us! This date change was to accommodate Doug and we think you’ll agree it was well worth it. We will meet on Tuesday, November 12 from 5:30-8pmat the Round Table Pizza Conference room on Main St at Bedford St in old town Placerville. Doug will start the meeting with a tying demonstration of one of his favorite flys. We will then be treated to a fantastic presentation on fishing the Truckee River from the CA/NV State Line to Reno. This stretch of river is meandering and relatively flat (for easier wading and walking). I know this kind of fishing will appeal to many of our members as footing gets tricky as we age. Not only will we see where and how to fish this river, we will also see some rod breaking browns and rainbows.

This is going to be an exciting presentation, but enough about that; Tuesday night will also be our Chapter elections. We have the Officers positions open and a handful of Director positions as well. Anyone wanting to step up and help take the reins of the El Dorado Chapter of Trout Unlimited is welcome to self-nominate or be nominated by your fishing buddy. This is a very rewarding experience and fosters great camaraderie among fellow anglers.

We will also provide pizza for everyone for a token donation of $5. There will be our highly acclaimed raffle for rod/reel combo (6 wt, 9’, 2 pc, rod & 5-6 wt Ross reel) as the grand prize along with numerous packs and assorted gear and flies. Beverages can be purchased from the Round Table. If any of you have a fishing buddy who has wanted to get acquainted with one of the most diverse and fun Trout Unlimited Chapters in CA, please invite them to join us for the evening. We’ll see you Tuesday night and hopefully we’ll have the power on for the night!
