Hear more about Caples Creek On Thursday January 18 at the V eterans memorial building in Placerville. Michael Mamola will present angl ing data collected since 2019. He will provide a picture of the fish popul ation in Caples Creek\, describe pending work and project future actions w e may participate in. Michael is the California DFW Heritage and Wild Trou t biologist examining Caples Creek. This work results from our focus on Ca ples Creek and a goal of increasing angler satisfaction.
\nCaples Cr eek has been found to be a healthy habitat. Limited data and observations suggest some growth of fish population. We can develop a monitoring plan w hich would include participation by members in observation and hook and li ne angling. We will continue to evaluate the potential for planting more f ish or hatching in stream.
\nThe Veterans Memorial is located at 130 Placerville Drive in Placerville. Activity for the night starts with open ing the doors at 5:45 PM. Bruce Butler will lead a fly tying group from 6: 00 to 7:00 PM. He will present several simple patterns to begin tying. Bru ce will provide materials and tools but feel free to bring your own. Our m ember meeting will start at 7:00 PM and feature Michael Mamola.
